Since opening in May 1994, Florida Karate Academy has specialized in family martial arts as the heart of our dojo. Unlike schools that separate kids and adults, we offer convenient, popular classes where parents train with their children – and even grandparents join in. Classes integrate our full curriculum in a welcoming, progressive way (often in mixed-level sessions like beginner/intermediate slots):
Okinawan Karate: Striking, kata (forms), balance, and power for foundational strength.

Sensei Dave Roth (7th-degree Shorin-ryu Karate, multiple black belts including Niseido Jujitsu and Guro in Garimot Arnis) designed this program from his vision of martial arts as a family activity. Raising his own children (Alexa and Michael) while teaching, he ensures classes foster real-life values like respect and perseverance. His expertise delivers authentic training that's inclusive and effective.
